Health Care: Pervasive Technology on the Horizon

A recent survey of over 1,000 medical students found:
  • Nearly 90% of students surveyed view the information available through mobile or online drug and disease references as highly credible, second only to medical journals
  • 45% of the respondents are using an iPhone and or an iPod Touch
  • 84% of medical students had experience with an EMR during their clinical rotations
  • 90% said use of an EMR will be an important factor in choosing where to practice medicine
