Health Care: Seniors say no need for change

Editor’s note: Here is a Kaiser Foundation poll about the perceived impact of health care reform on Medicare. One item that has been pretty clear and consistent – any health reform will contain a reduction in funding to Medicare Advantage programs. These policies cover tens of millions of seniors. Whether you think Medicare is over paying insurers to provide this coverage, or not, a change in funding levels will reduce or eliminate these offerings. We saw the same thing occur in the 1990s with Medicare Plus Choice. Seniors will not be able to keep their same insurance plan.

Better off 42% 20%
Wouldn’t make much difference 18% 26%
Worse off 28% 37%
It depends 2% 4%
