How Many Plans Can a Doctor Manage?

Editor’s note – The government wants more competition. The more plans that a doctor has to deal with the more difficult and complex his office systems need to be to handle all of the differences, nuances and information coming to him or her.


In 2008, 87.6% of physicians had managed care contracts, and almost 70% of physicians had five or more of them.
