Multispecialty Group Practice Revenues

According to a recent survey on medical practice revenues, multispecialty group practices experienced the following:
  • A 1.9% decrease in total medical revenue in 2008.
  • A decline in patient volume from 2006 to 2008, indicated by a 9.9% drop in the number of procedures and an 11.3% slump in the number of patients
  • Bad debt from fee-for-service charges increased 13% from 2006 to 2008
  • Reduced overhead expenses 1.4% in 2008, largely by cutting support staff costs by 1.5%
