Preventive Screenings and Immunizations

Editor’s note: If the government passes health reform legislation that make these preventive screenings ‘free’ [the invisible hand will be taking the costs from their wallets in the form of new taxes.] what do you suppose will happen to the global costs of providing these services. As the cost rises, there may well be more ‘guidelines’ developed that help people determine whether the screenings are appropriate. Hopefully the communication of these guidelines will be more effective than the recent change in the mammography screening guidelines.

Only about 25% of people ages 50 to 64 get the recommended preventative health screenings and immunizations.
