Radiation: Benefit Risk Relationship

Mammogram radiation ups breast cancer risk in some women
A Dutch study found that high-risk women, especially those younger than 30, who had been exposed to low-dose radiation from chest X-rays and mammograms, have a higher risk of developing breast cancer than those who hadn’t been exposed. The researchers said these women should consider an alternative screening method, such as an MRI. Yahoo!/Reuters (12/1)
