Health Care Cost, Quality and Safety

A recent survey of primary care physicians found:
  • Half of all respondents and 60% of those using electronic health records said they were more likely to report adverse events using an EHR system. 
  • Almost 60% of respondents thought adverse event reporting using an EHR would improve patient safety.
  • Of those still using paper-based systems, 80% cited cost as a deterrent to investing in an EHR system.
