One MRSA infection can increase medical costs $60,000
A study of seven health care facilities found one surgical patient with an MRSA infection can incur more than $60,000 in extra medical expenses. Researchers also said these patients are 35 times more likely to be readmitted to the hospital and seven times more likely to die within 90 days, compared with surgical patients who don’t have MRSA infections. Reuters(12/15)
