22.7% Now Have High Deductibles

This from Greg Scandlen:

That is the most recent National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) from the Center for Disease Control. This is the Big Daddy of all of the national surveys, and it finds that now 22.7% of the under-65 population is in “high deductible” health plans. This is up from 19.4% just one year ago. This includes 6.4% of the population with a Health Savings Account, up from 5.2% last year. It does not separate out HRAs from other people with stand-alone high deductible plans.  The report also mentions that fully one-half of the individual market now has high deductible health coverage.
